About 10 years ago, my children begged for a puppy. Like so many families, we wanted a dog to love, but we didn’t realize just how much that decision would change our lives. That’s when we brought home a beautiful black and tan dachshund named Gnash—and from the moment she arrived, she was exactly what our family needed.Gnash wasn’t just a pet. She became comfort, laughter, and companionship all wrapped into one little long-bodied best friend. She brought us together in a way we didn’t expect, filling our home with joy, loyalty, and an unconditional kind of love that only a dachshund can give.And as they say… dachshunds are like Lays potato chips—you can’t have just one.Slowly, our family began to grow our dachshund pack so that each child could have their own companion—someone to love them, follow them around, cuddle close, and always be there. Over time, our dachshunds became more than dogs… they became family members. Each one has their own personality, quirks, routines, and special bond with us.One of my biggest dreams was to someday own land—so our dachshunds could have a true backyard where they could run and run, explore, and live the happiest little lives possible. As our number of dachshunds grew, so did our dream. And finally, our dream came true when we purchased five acres and built our barndo—a home where our dachshunds could thrive and our family could build memories for a lifetime.Today, our family has eight dachshund pets, and we truly cannot imagine life without them. Their love is steady, their loyalty is fierce, and the joy they bring into our home is unmatched.This year, we decided to allow two of our dogs to have a litter of puppies, and we did so with a full heart and a meaningful purpose. We want to share what dachshunds have given our family with others—because we know how life-changing it is to add one of these incredible dogs into your home. We hope other families can experience the same kind of love, laughter, and companionship we’ve been blessed with.Because truly… there is no love like the love of a dachshund.​
